TH602 Royal Arch. A special 1848 thicker style silver-gilt members jewel.

The jewel was presented to Comp. H. J.Nicholls on his Exaltation in 1848.

The ceremony took place at The Rock, a British Army fort in Trichinopoly, India, which is located in the re-named city of Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu, India. The fort dates from the 7th Century.

As is usual for indian jewels it is not hallmarked but tests for silver.

The jewel has a London or Provincial Grand Chapter Rank ribbon which is not original and is dated 1848AD and AL5852.

A scarce and historic jewel.
