A rare early Victorian Senior Warden’s jewel, made in silver in 1840 by Aklam, perhaps the most famous early masonic jeweller after Thomas Harper.
It is a magnificent jewel, with engraving quite different to anything normally seen, with a large teardrop shaped glass “weight” attached to the lower centre. The engaving around the entire jewel shows leaves, with two branches in the lower centre, and three more leaves in a sprig at the top.
The back has a hallmark for 1840, with the words AKLAM and STRAND engraved.
A very special jewel, and extremely rare.
