TH111 1780 Freemasons Hall Medal

The medal was engraved by Lewis Pingo and was presented to brethren or lodges for contributions towards the building of the first Freemasons Hall in London.

The Foundation Stone was laid on the 1st May 1775.

The officiating Chaplain was Rev. Dr. William Dodd, who was expelled from the Craft in 1777 and later executed for forging a bond belonging to his patron, the Earl of Chesterfield.

This medal with original hanging loop was presented to Milborne West Esq.

Milborne West was the Grand Master of Canada from 1764 – 1767.

One of the rarest and most sought after of all Masonic medals.
