TH24 Scottish-Irish huge silver very early Victorian Past Master’s jewel circa 1840.
The jewel is made in Hallmarked silver with the Scottish Thistle and matching semi-precious stones.
It was manufactured by John Hay, who was a jeweller in Leith,Edinburgh between 1825 and 1860.
They made many Scottish Masonic jewels at the time, including the 1838 Centenary Jewel
of the Grand Lodge of Scotland.
It is most unusual to see a Past Master’s jewel this early, whether Scottish or otherwise, especially Hallmarked. It is huge!
A very special and rare jewel which is wonderfully attractive.
Hallmarked silver and semi-precious stones.
