A Past Master’s jewel for Lodge Industry and Perseverance No. 109.
The jewel was originally ordered as a Pre-Regulation Centenary Jewel. However it is thought that when the dies for the lodge’s original Past Masters jewel became lost, it was decided to convert the Centenary Jewel into a Past Masters jewel.
The lodge was originally formed in Calcutta, India, and now meets in London.
The front of the jewel is inscribed CENTENARY JEWEL 5861. AD1861.
The back of the jewel is inscribed “ESTABLISHED BY WARRANT OF THE GRAND LODGE OF ENGLAND (Moderns) DATED FEB; 7TH 1761” and the lodges previous numbers.
