Lodge Pitt Macdonald No. 1198 was formed in Vespery, Madras, India in October 1867.
The Lodge still meets in Madras as No. 1198 under the UGLE.
This is the first example of this jewel I have come across. It is rare.
The ribbon and hanger may not be original, but the jewel is.
The jewel was manufactured by Bartons of South Parade, Caclutta. Bartons were formed in 1861.
The jewel, which is silver-gilt, is stamped SILVER and BARTONS.
